(...I have just realized that this whole time I have never had an actual storyline for this place. Um. Go me?)

Everything began with nothing. Chaos had made this world, Serin, infecting it like a disease, slowly killing those within the world.

It was said even the stars cried out their sorrows against the chaos plaguing this place, and the four brave souls who could hear them answered, begging for aid from the world above them.

The stars agreed and through many trials and tribulations separated chaos into elements--Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind--letting the land live once more, the chaos no longer spread throughout the land. But when the stars tried to move the elements away from the world, the world began to wither. This certainly did not bode well for either party.

The stories differ from time to time, however one thing is certain, someone stepped forth, a young someone, voice as sweet and innocent as music. "Perhaps I could be of help. What if I watched over these elements? They could stay here, in the world we love, and we can keep living." they suggested, with the purest of intentions. The stars conversed, but it was the elements themselves that agreed to the bold suggestion. And so they became crystals, becoming part of the body of this brave child, who tended and cared for them. This person was called The Keeper of the Elemental Crystals, The Keeper for short. The Keeper could never actually use the power of these almighty crystals, only working as a container.

Time passed as the crystals multiplied, breaking off and forming their own elements, all while still being guarded by the ever-watchful Keeper. The original Keeper disappeared--whether from death or simple running away, no one is certain--and new Keepers have risen to take the place of that first brave soul.

Evil, however, exists in all living beings.

There were those that lusted after the great power of these crystals. Just having one would be enough power to overthrow a country! These evil people were stopped, both by the Keeper and their Guardians, but during the time of the latest Keeper, Reili, something went wrong.

Reili was ambushed and two of her three guardians murdered before the child's very eyes. When they attempted to strike and kill her, the girl was left with no choice. She released the seal on the crystals and sent them away, to those who could be trusted with their power. She then was kidnapped, clinging to the hope that whoever the crystals found would come to find her, and return them to her before the world began to wither once more.

And this is how our story begins.
